The Records of Wright Water Engineers, Inc. consists of documents dated from 1882 to 2006, with the bulk falling from 1974 to 1984. Kenneth R. Wright was special consultant to Governor Lamm following the Big Thompson flood disaster of July 31, 1976. His service to the Governor was from August 1976 through 1977. For the Big Thompson flood work, the collection contains records and papers, minutes, reports, newspaper clippings and correspondence that document the activities of various individuals and groups primarily in the two years following the disaster, as well as the complex interactions of individuals and state and local entities. Aerial photographs, photographs and maps also document the areas impacted by the disaster. For the company's work with Great Western Sugar Company in the 1970s and 1980s, the collection contains copies of court documents, notes, reports, and copies of water and rights documentation. Some aerial photographs, photographs, maps and factory plans are also included.
